Yep, a refer next to me, he pulls out and who, just WHO do you think pulled into the space??
Yep, another refer. A loud one. Not a quiet one.
I'm telling you my rig is a refer magnet. *sigh*

Just Yesterday I Griped About Refers...Remember?

Woo-Hoo!! Pilot Came Through!!!
A really nice lady, Lynsay, from Pilot sent me a message through Facebook that they are trying to make a mobile thingamajig so us OTR-ers can use their coupons to get the swag.
It seems that if you have the 'net on your phone (I do, I do!) then if you can get to coupon page, just take that gadget into the store and claim your goodies. There may be a glitch about security but they are working on it.
Also, text messages may be sent out that can be used, too.
I'm rather computer/gadget challenged so I'll have to play around with the phone and see where it gets me. I'll be sure to let you know how it works out. Then again, if it doesn't work, it might just be my stoopidity at work but I might get lucky, you never know.
Yep, turns out having a blog to gripe does pay off sometimes. :-)

...And In Other News, Ricky Martin Announces He's Gay....
This is news?? Like no one knew?? Hello??
(Sorry, I know this doesn't have a thing to do with trucking but I couldn't resist...)

At least he's damn easy on the eyes....

Refers Seek Me Out, It Seems
Why is this??
No matter where I park in a truckstop parking lot, you can pretty well bet your bottom dollar that a refer will seek my rig out 'just' to park beside me.
Could they possibly have a refer with whisper mode?? Hell, no. Of course not. It has to be an older model that is louder than Joshua's horn (look that up in the Old Testament).
I'm doomed to living with refers next door. Just flat doomed....

Pilots And The Coupons
I was just checking my Facebook page and looked up the Pilot page. On there, they remind you to get a coupon for free something-or-other. That's great in my book but (are you listening, Pilot-management peeps??), if you are on the road ALL the time, HOW do you get the coupons to take into the store to redeem??
I've posted this query several times and never an answer. I do have a printer at my home but it's a monster sized thing and besides, space is at a premium in my big rig. I turned off the 'net at my home and only use truckstop internet or free ones.
So, what to do?? I once posted about could I write the code down and then use it in the store. As usual, no answer. Sooooo, I guess I'll just have to try it and I'll let you know how it goes.

Truck Parking Is For TRUCKS
What is this?? Lately, I've noticed that a lot of 4-wheelers are parking in the long truck spaces in rest areas. RV's, I can understand, or even a pickup pulling a big slantload horse trailer, but a 4-wheeler??
There are usually spots on the 4-wheeler side of the rest area and plenty of room for them but nope, gonna take a big rig spot.
Nothing is soooo annoying when you're tired or need to use the potty and pull into a RA only to find the last spot was taken by some Prius. Once, I did say something to the owner of a convertible but hubby pulled me into our rig before the driver had a chance to respond. Maybe that wasn't my finest hour but, geez Loueeeze!! Think, people!!

Talk About An Upgrade!! Wow!!
I started this blog to vent about this and that in relation to truck-driving but when something so good happens that it blows you away, I have to trumpet it to the world!
The Petro in Laramie, WY has really, really come up in the world. The showers are/were just perfect (except the cleaning lady forgot the toilet seat protectors but toilet paper can be made to work), totally clean and not hot one bit! I left her a tip. Oh, yes I did! The service in the restaurant was prompt and the waitresses were friendly and didn't disappear. The only thing I saw that bugged me was the salad bar was a bit messy but, (always the 'but') there were a truckload of people coming and going to the salad bar and it's to be expected it'd get sloppy. Still, the food was really good.
Someone at the top must have gotten the memo, eh??
